The HUD

The HUD is a sim experience you’ll need to accept to be able to teleport around the sim as well as to participate in combat and events. It auto-attaches outside the landing zone.

When setting your name, use the name you wish to appear in your titler, not your username. 

/2 to post as your character.
/2: to post without your character’s name.

Help! The HUD Is Stuck!

If you teleport to a sim where scripts are not enabled the HUD may become stuck. This is a grid wide issue with all experiences. Simply relogging removes it.

Alternatively if you cross regions within Astrium or otherwise the HUD glitches, you may try typing “/1 reboot” in local chat or removing the HUD manually, going to the landing zone, and re-entering the sim from there. To remove the HUD manually, check your Temporary Wearables and right click detach. Where those are located varies depending on the viewer.

Experience:

  • XP does not equate to a level or Ability Points. They are earned towards the points!
  • Visit XP are not Ability Points.
  • Each Ability caps at 40 points.
  • You can earn XP in the following ways:
    • Attending events – 3 XP
    • Hosting events – 5 XP
    • Submitting an approved book to the library – 2 XP each
    • Personal quests hosted by an admin – 3 XP per player
    • Winning contests – Varies
    • Submitting approved artwork to the art gallery – 2 XP each

Pressing the Centre Button:​

  • Titler: To add a title to yourself or change how high your title is placed above your head.
  • OOC Tag: Adds an OOC tag to the top of your titles or removes the OOC tag when clicked again.
  • Characters:
    • Youth: Adds a youth tag to the top of your titles or removes the youth tag when clicked again.
    • Points: Spend your points here.
    • Create: Create a new character.
    • Select: Select which character to play.
    • Delete: Delete current character.
    • Employment: Click one of the available work options to be hired! Click again to quit. This is purely flavour for RP for now.
  • Astrium: Connects to the Astrium website.
  • GPHUD: Connects to the HUD website (Your character page).
  • Teleports: Various teleports built into the HUD

Other Icons:

  • Sword Icon (Attack): Used to attack other players (Click name to attack). This is anything that may cause an ow.
  • Yellow Dice Icon (Against): Used to roll against other players without doing damage (To pickpocket, to arm wrestle, drinking contest, siren songs, etc.) This also affects how well you heal others.
  • Blue D100 Icon (Flat): Do a flat roll (Anything you attempt in the world: lock pick, lift objects, climb a wall, illusion spells, etc.) Spells outside the classroom that have any significant impact on RP but are spells performed on yourself require 50+ on the blue dice to succeed. This includes but is not limited to disguise self and other such spells. Spells cast against another player require the attack dice or the against roll dice.
  • Potion Icon: Heal yourself.
  • Double Hearts Icon (Against): Heal other players  (Click their name)
  • Swirl Icon: Teleports.

Points Explanation:

  • Flat: This increases the bonuses you receive to the flat roll. (Blue D100.)
  • Against: Yellow Dice Icon bonuses and Healing.
  • Attack: How hard you attack ( both melee or magic )
  • Defense: How good you defend against an attack ( both melee or magic ) 

The following example is a message you should simply ignore. It is something we can’t remove from the HUD and is a limitation of the system we use.

[20:59] GPHUD: You were awarded 1 point of Visit XP, you will be eligible for your next point NOW

This next example is an alert that you have a point you may spend on the above Flat / Against / Attack / Defense.

[20:59] GPHUD: You have 1 points available to spend.

To spend points you may either re-log or re-enter the sim, or find the points menu in the HUD by clicking the center button, then characters, then points.
