The City:
Perched high among the mist-shrouded peaks of Astrium’s western mountains, Fēngyún Gǔ, or the Valley of Wind and Clouds, is a breathtaking sanctuary of the Mist Dragons. Ancient, winding paths carved into the cliffs lead to the village, where elegantly curved rooftops, adorned with golden dragon motifs. The village is a seamless blend of nature and celestial architecture, with floating lanterns, crystal-clear waterfalls cascading through terraced gardens, and bridges of jade and elkrite spanning over cloud-covered chasms. Towering prayer pillars inscribed with glowing runes stand at the entrance, humming softly with ancient magic, ensuring that only those with a dragon’s blessing may enter.

The Gods:
The Mist Dragons of Fēngyún Gǔ revere Bahamut, the Platinum Dragon, and Tiamat, the Five-Headed Queen, as their primary deities. Bahamut, embodying justice, wisdom, and protection, was once deeply involved in guiding the village’s scholars and celestial guardians, while Tiamat, a force of ambition, dominance, and chaos, was both feared and respected by the more power-driven among them.
However, the gods of dragonkind are currently locked in a celestial war, drawing in other draconic deities such as Chronepsis, the Keeper of Fate, and Io, the fractured All-Father. With their divine patrons preoccupied, the Mist Dragons find themselves navigating their own destiny, relying on ancient prophecies, the guidance of elder wyrms, and the whispered omens within the shifting clouds to shape their path. While Bahamut’s priests still uphold his teachings and Tiamat’s followers work in the shadows, neither god has directly answered prayers in decades, leaving the valley in an age of uncertainty.

Culture:
Mist dragons are based on Eastern dragons and tend to follow Chinese culture and Imperial aesthetics with Japanese influences. They speak in Mandarin.
Fēngyún Gǔ maintains a strong alliance with Cailean, their treaty upheld by a mutual respect for balance, honor, and wisdom. While the village appears almost untouched by time, it thrives as a center of philosophy, elemental magic, and celestial alchemy, where Mist Dragons live in harmony, studying the ebb and flow of fate through the ever-shifting clouds. At the heart of the village lies the Temple of the Eternal Sky, a towering structure of enchanted stone that serves as both a shrine to the dragon ancestors and a place of council where treaties, celestial omens, and magical advancements are discussed.
